Nagpur: Shree Krishna Nrithalayam (SKN)’s 26th Annual Function, held on February 15, 2025, was a magnificent celebration of classical dance and music. The event, graced by esteemed guests like Shri. Ravi Durugkar, renowned actor-director, Shri. Gajanan Ranade from Sanskar Bharti, and Dr. Astha Karlekar, Director of SCZCC, Nagpur, showcased the richness of Indian culture. The evening began with an enchanting Mohiniyattam-Bharatanatyam “Pushpanjali” and featured stellar performances such as “Kaaleeyamardhanam” and “Venkata Chalanilayam,” performed by SKN’s talented young dancers.
The program included a flawless Saraswati Vandana, a powerful Keerthanam “Shankara Sri,” and an energetic Thillana in Ragam Misrasivaranjini. The highlight of the evening was the dance drama “Vetrivel Murugan,” which beautifully depicted Lord Karthikeya’s mythological journey, leaving the audience spellbound.
The event, choreographed by Mrs. Prameela Unnikrishnan, featured exceptional performances supported by a talented group of musicians: Anil Kallekulangara (Vocals), Sajeevan Vadavannur (Mridangam), Shirish Bhalerao (Violin), Shivlal Yadav (Flute), and Kamlesh Naidu (Rhythm Pad). SKN’s 26th Annual Function was a resounding success, a stunning tribute to the world of Indian classical arts.
