NAGPUR: VR Nagpur, in partnership with Sarathi Trust, hosted a vibrant and inclusive Pride Carnival, celebrating the LGBTQAI+ community with a series of engaging events today. The event attracted a diverse crowd and highlighted the importance of diversity, inclusivity, and love.

Pride Walk and GatheringThe festivities began with a colorful Pride Walk, followed by a gathering at the VR Nagpur LGBT community. Attendees participated in a spirited photoshoot at the porch area, capturing the joyful atmosphere. The welcome ceremony featured a dynamic dance performance by a carnival dancer and an inspiring speech by the host. VR Nagpur Vice President Mr Rajiv Ranjan and Sarathi Trust CEO Mr Nikunj Joshi and activist Anchal Verma expressed their pride in celebrating the LGBTQAI+ community and emphasized the importance of creating safe and inclusive spaces.

The evening was filled with energetic dance performances by Akash Taide & Deepika (Rada Krishna), Jai Kaithwas (Heeramandi), Anuj Gaikwad (Bebo Jaan – Heeramandi), Amar Morkar (Heeramandi), Soun Ghade (Aali Shukrachi Chandani), and Urvashi Palandurkar, showcasing diverse talents.

A panel discussion addressed crucial issues such as safety, security, and acceptance in day-to-day life for the LGBTQAI+ community with Panel member Judge, Lok adalat, Mrs Vidya Kamble. Participants shared their stories and experiences during an open mic session, fostering a sense of community and solidarity. The fashion show featured members of the Sarathi Trust, celebrating individuality and creativity with a vibrant display of styles.

The balloon dropping ceremony symbolized collective hopes, dreams, and the ongoing fight for equality and acceptance. Organizers reflected on the significance of the event and the impactful partnership between VR Nagpur and Sarathi Trust.

The evening concluded with a live band performance, providing a festive and celebratory atmosphere. The event was compered by famous anchor Shyamal Deshmukh in her unique style. The Pride Carnival at VR Nagpur, in collaboration with Sarathi Trust, was a resounding success, demonstrating the strength, resilience, and unity of the LGBTQAI+ family and reinforcing the message of inclusivity and love for all.
